First up today with an early start at 9.30am on Ballisodare Astro is the U12 Reds team. They have had several weeks pre season under their belt with some impressive performances and wins against strong opposition, Manager and ex player, Damien Fallon has been encouraging the lads to relax on the ball, have confidence in possession and in their passing this has been meticulously observed pre season. The squad are rearing to go.

Next up at 11am on Ballisodare Astro are our U16 A League lads managed by Eamonn Johnston & Mossy Egan. In the managers words, "Pre season has gone OK, looking forward to the challenge of the A league, pitting our wits against the best teams at our level. Carrick will be a tough battle as usual, we were tooth and nail for the league title last season"

At 11am in Hazelwood, Calry, our U15 Girls take on the local team on what has always been a tough venue. The girls have shown great enthusiasm in getting a team together and also demonstrated a great willingness to learn on the training pitch and are willing to give it their all.

At 3.30pm on Ballisodare Astro the feast of football continues with our U13 Girls taking on local rival St. Johns in what is always a competitive game. Co-Manager John Ward says "The girls are rearing to go and cant wait for the opening game. We have a few new signings which will bolster our young squad. and we are confident of a positive result in our opening game"

Following the girls game our U-14's Boys Group A play KEUFC in what will be an end to end game. Manager Aidan Kenny says "Following last seasons disappointment of missing out on the B League title, all the lads came back rearing to go. Although pre-season has been difficult to schedule with the GAA season still underway, we have managed to work around that. The lads have completed a 4 week pre-season programme, which consisted of 2 x pitch sessions and a Strength & Conditioning session each week. While also having 3 x very beneficial games against Coolaney United, Merville United, and Abbey United. With the lads' intensity and fluency increasing progressively throughout"

And finally to round off the day, the final course is our Senior Mens team going full tilt for a crack at the Sligo Pallets Premier League. The opposition tonight are Valley Rovers who come to Ballisodare Astro with nothing to lose. Manager Kevin O' Hara has brought in a alot of new and returning faces and has benefited from some good challenge games against strong opposition. Kick off 7.30 Pm.

On behalf of all at BUFC we would like to wish all the BUFC (boys and girls) players and coaches the best of luck today and for the season ahead, and hopefully, the hard work pays off in good memories and maybe a few medals! 🔴⚪
