16.9.23 u12 Girls Connaught Cup - BUFC 1-2 Yeats United AET (Away) LOSS

On our u12 Girls first outing of the season we were very unlucky to come away with a defeat in the last minute of extra time with a shot that hit of the post after a fine save by the very impressive Fay Morris in goals and spun agonisingly over the line. From the start we had the better of the game and scored after 20 minutes when some great work from Tara set up Kristina who calmly rounded the keeper and scored.

It was nip and tuck after that and with 2 minutes remaining Yeats equalised and off to extra time we went, where if lady luck was on our side we would have went ahead but unfortunately a break away by Yeats in the last minute led to the winner.

On their performance today we will win more than we lose. Manager Trevor Henry said afterwards "To a girl as a squad today I can't single anyone out as they were all exceptional for their first outing. We dust ourselves down and learn from the defeat and move on" Great help today for Trevor from Audi Dinan and Vivienne Pearson
