BUFC 9 - 0 BALLYMOTE CELTIC (Home) (WIN)

U12 BUFC red team back to winning ways.

On a woeful night for football with a torrential downpour the goals flooded in for the young lads of BUFC who showed what team spirit is all about throughout.

Straight from the off, our back three were solid as a wall, our full backs Ethan Lougheed and Luke Mc Loughlin were immense with nothing getting past them, and then having calmness on the ball to find passes. Centre half Teddy Healion communicated and played his way through the game with an outstanding performance, knocking lovely balls in behind Ballymotes rearguard.

BUFC passed the ball around and our first goal came from set pieces straight of the training ground, with Caolon Feeney providing a lovely composed finish into the bottom corner. not long after Stephen Gillespie got the first of his hatrick . Stephen was excellent on the wing with little one twos with Caolon ending up in creating chances or scoring.

On the other wing we had Conor "the bomb" Fallon with exploding pace to go by players and whipping balls like Beckham, with 5 assists on the night, Conor was very unlucky not to be on the scoresheet, but after game very happy to create the chances for team mates.

Goal of the night came next with our keeper Ryan Fallon composed on the ball plays a pass to Ethan Lougheed, who in turn finds Jason Scanlon, who with a lovelly ball into Conor Fallon who sends a peach of a pass into Stephen Gillespie, and there is only one outcome in these situations....GOOOOOALLLLL

Second half saw us change the team about, where Evan Lougheed came in centre half was immense and solid, with Calum Clarke back from injury covering off everything and making brillant tackles. Luke Kelly up front done what he was asked to do and hold the ball up and was unlucky not to score. Bobby Cavanagh and Darragh Culkin, new additions to the red squad, made brilliant contributions to the team. Bobby's with pace and hard work, Darragh with controlled passing and tackles.

Jamie Nicholson was first to react when Stephen Gillespies free kick came back of the underside of the bar and Jamie showed his athleticism for a classy finish.

Next goal again came from a training ground exercise saw Bobby Cavanagh with a bullet of a header.

Manager, Damien Fallon said "this was one brilliant performance from every member off the squad and as manager I think Saturday game against Colga stood to them in every way. this is 2 games 4 points and two clean sheets thanks to Ryan Fallon and his defence, on to our next game"

20.9.23 BUFC U16's 4 - 3 Merville United (Home) (WIN)

Our Under 16s beat Merville 4-3 in a fantastic game of football.

We opened the scoring through Adam Taheny with a rifled finish on his left foot. Merville made it 1-1 and then we took the lead with a beautiful goal. Phenomenal work from Brandon Meehan to win the ball back and feed Adam Taheny the ball on the left wing, Adam played a quality ball across the box and Aaron Lougheed let it run, adjusted his body and finished superbly.

Adam Taheny made it 3-1 after that with another lovely finish and all that before half time. Merville pulled two back through two penalties and all of a sudden it's 3-3.

The lads to their credit never gave up and the Merville keeper made two world class saves before, in the last minute, Adam Taheny picked the ball up in midfield and after a mesmerising run calmly took it round the keeper and tapped it in to go 4-3 in front which it was the way it ended. Joyous celebrations in the home dugout.

Two absolutely monumental results for this team in a week.
