BUFC U15s 3 - 3 Strand Celtic (HOME) (DRAW)

On a blustery night for football BUFC had the wind in their sails early with Jayden Gilgan capitalised on a under hit back pass from the Strand centre back to make it one nil to the home side. BUFC failed to build in this lead and some poor defending and sloppy play led to a breaking ball which fell nicely to Strand player who made no mistake to equalise. One all at half time.

Early in the second half starts Strand take advantage again to make it 2-1 and this was soon followed by a Strand screamer on the half volley to make it 3-1 and the game looked out of sight for the Boys of Ballisodare.

However as this team has shown in the past they can dig deep when required and again Jayden Gilgan latches onto a poor touch from Strand centre back and gets down the line before cutting back to Daniel Connolly to finish with aplomb to make 3-2 with 5 minutes to go and the away sides nerves were jangling and definitely hanging on.

However with the last play of the game Ballisodare break - the ball beats the Strand centre back before Jayden "Bolt" Gilgan runs 50 yards down the line like a steam engine, closely followed by our impressive centre back Daniel Toolan who met a perfect cross at back post for "what he says was" an easy tap-in to make it 3-3 and a well deserved point on the night.

BUFC U18s 1-2 Arrow Harps (AWAY) (LOSS)

Our U18s went down to a 2-1 defeat to local rivals Arrow Harps in the evening kick off at Dromahair Astro Park. BUFC had the better of the 1st half and deservedly led at half time with a great finish from the ever impressive Ben Sherlock (27 mins). However it was a game of two halves and Arrow came out all guns blazing for the second half and goals from Matthew Potter (50 mins) & L. Scanlon (67 mins) saw the Riverstown take the points. Next up for the U18s is a game v Yeats United on the 9.10.23
