GIRLS U 12 GRPA: BUFC U12 Girls V Merville United, Astro Pitch Ballisodare, (HOME) (WIN)

On a very cold morning this talented group put on a super show to warm up all the frozen home parents on the sideline.

It was important we started strong against a well drilled Merville team and again we scored an early goal coming from  some exceptional wing play by Gabi Suchocka to set up Sophie Henry who finished in the bottom corner.

Soon afterwards Tara Morris powered home a second and now we could relax and play some football and that's what we done.

Two further goals by Kristina Leskova and Blaithin O'Meara sent us in 4-0 up at halftime, the second half was all one way traffic and we added to our tally with Sophie, Tara and Kristina scoring one each.

With 50 goals in 8 matches we have some serious firepower in the team but as we all know a good team is built on its defence and again today our defenders Jessica Dena, Ava McMullan, Ava Maloney and Hazel Tonra at different times when called upon were exceptional and not to forget our super keeper Faye Morris who had very little to do but when called upon was her usual composed self and Ella Venter who worked her socks off up front when she came on.

Scorers: Sophie Henry ⚽⚽, Kristina Leskova ⚽⚽, Tara Morris ⚽⚽ & Blaithin O'Meara ⚽

Next Saturday we have a huge game at home against Colga in SFAI trophy so it would be great to get out as much support as we can for the girls.

SFAI Subway Boys u 13 Trophy: BUFC U13 Boys 2-4 Arrow Harps, Riverstown Community Park (AWAY) (LOSS)

It was 0-0 at half time with both sides having a few chances but the second half saw all the action.

BOYS U 11 La Liga: BUFC U11 Boys V Valley Rovers, Cleveragh Astro, (NEUTRAL) (WIN)

The under 11s red team made it 3 wins from this morning with a comprehensive victory over a spirited Valley Rovers side.

The lads hit the ground running with some superb passing and movement which was great to see, and raced into a 4-0 lead by half time.

Valley Rovers pulled a goal back early in the 2nd half but the Reds stepped it up again to run out deserved winners on the day . We did also allow Valley Rovers to field an extra player from midway through the 1st half to the end of the game.

Really great to see some of the coaching drills having an impact in games, particularly in relation to movement and spacial awareness.

A minimum game time of one half for every player also.

On to the White Team next Sunday to see if they can also maintain their 100% record.

Finally, thanks to the parents who had their children at Cleveragh for 08.40 as requested. Not easy , particularly on a chilly December morning.

GIRLS U11 SERIEA: BUFC U11 Girls V Calry Bohs, Cleveragh Astro (NEUTRAL) (WIN)

The girls put in a fine display this morning to finally overcome a sporting Calry side.

As we had only 5 players at KO Calry generously let us borrow a couple of players.

Calry were quickly on the front foot racing into a two goal lead.

Nevertheless with the late arrivals to our squad we slowly took control of proceedings.

Goals from Fay, Ella, JJ and Willow ensured we took the spoils but both teams have to be commended on some great football on a rather chilly morning.

In Club Friendly: BUFC Senior Mens 0-1 BUFC U18 Boys, Astro Pitch Ballisodare

Ballisodare United U18s and Senior Mens played a 35 minute a side friendly today on our astro.

The game was an ideal chance to give the U18s a test ahead of their upcoming Connacht Cup game against Westport United B next weekend and likewise an opportunity for the Senior side to get much minutes on the pitch for some players in the squad.

The only goal of the game was scored by Shane Gethins for the U18s.

All players got a lot out of the game and hope to plan another game in the New Year.

The importance of continuing to link the U18s and Senior teams was discussed afterwards.

Thanks to @⁨Mehdi⁩ for refereeing the game.
