Sligo Bay Lobsters Women’s League: BUFC Senior Ladies 0-3 Valley Rovers, Mac Sharry Park (AWAY) (LOSS)

Senior Ladies lost 3:0 a scoreline which certainly didn't reflect the game, the team gave 110% and management would feel a few younger legs would be a welcome addition to the squad. Audi Dinan hit the crossbar with a header from a Colleen Cavanagh free kick and a few minutes later Valley broke to score the first of three goals in quick succession. Anyone interested in joining the squad please feel free to contact the club, you will be joining a great bunch of ladies who are dedicated to giving their best and having fun at the same time.

Boys u 13 GRPB: BUFC U13 Boys 0-1 Coolaney United, Cleveragh Astro (AWAY) (LOSS)

U13s went down 1 nil to Coolaney this evening in Cleveragh.

With just 12 players the lads gave a good account of themselves and were probably the better team in all but just didn't put the 6 or 7 chances they created away. Also we hit the crossbar twice once in each half from Charlie Nicholson free kicks.

As Coolaney United rightly stated in their Facebook post "The result from last night's under 13 game was always going to be irrelevant after this unbelievable gesture from Ballisodare United Football Club"

Everyone at the Club send their sincerest condolences on the sad passing of Coolaney United u13 player Riyad Munir. Our Club are thinking of the Munir family and his club at this difficult time. May Riyad Rest in Peace.

SFAI Subway Girls u 12 Trophy: BUFC U12 Girls 3-6 Colga FC, Astro Pitch Ballisodare (HOME) (LOSS)

On a wet and windy day that made playing conditions very hard for either team we were beaten by a superior Colga side on the day.

Not often do I say this but we were outclassed on the day by their  two players in midfield, one of them especially no 6 will go a long way in the game, she is truly a remarkable talent.

She scored 5 of their goals. To our credit after a poor start and conceding 3 early goals we created a few chances and after some great work from Tara, Sophie pulled one back.

Unfortunately we conceded again straight away and  just before halftime Sophie again was unlucky to see her shot come back of the post and that would have gave us a life line for the second half.

To their credit the girls fought right to the end and we drew the second half  with 2 further goals from Blaithin and Kristina but unfortunately Colga scored 2 fine goals of their own as well.

The girls never dropped their heads and fought to the end and though it was a tough one for us all to take, we will all learn from today. We move on to Boyle in the league next week.

Special mention and a big thank you to all the parents/coaches who supplied and helped out with the snacks after the match. It was a serious spread and great team effort. Colga were very appreciative of our hospitality.

Conn Shield Boys u 12 BUFC U12 Boys V Salthill Devon, Astro Pitch Ballisodare (HOME) (WIN/WALKOVER)

Conn Shield Boys u14: BUFC U14 Boys 4-2 Kilshanvey, Astro Pitch Ballisodare (HOME) (WIN)

The u-14 lads progressed to the next round of the Connacht Shield with victory over a good Kilshanvey side.

Our scorers today were Tommy King with 2 one in either half, a first half Ryan Maloney free kick, followed by a second half Adam Finn free kick.

U18s Connaught Cup BUFC U18 Boys 1-2 Westport United B, Astro Pitch Ballisodare

U18s were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Westport in the Connaught Cup. It was a close game and could have gone either way.

Highlight of the match was Michael Currid's stunning goal from the half way line.

Lowlight was an injury to Darragh Sweeney in the first half, just when he was looking electric. We wish him a speedy recovery.
