GIRLS U 15 - BUFC U15 Girls V Coolaney United - Astro Pitch Ballisodare (HOME) (LOSS)

A game of two halves with the girls showing exactly what they are made of in the second half with Kate Fallon scoring from distance to give them just rewards for all their efforts and keeping going until the last minute despite the scoreline. A real credit to the club for their resilience and attitude.

BOYS U 14 GRPA - BUFC U14 Boys 0-6 St. Johns FC - Cleveragh Astro - (AWAY) (LOSS)

U14s were beaten by St. Johns in Cleveragh this morning.

Game finished 6-0  but it was not a real reflection on the game.

We had our chances with Daniel, Adam, Tommy, Bobby, Ben and Dylan all going close.

The lads worked hard kept working until the final whistle but unfortunately John's took their chances when they got them.

BOYS U 11 PREMIERSHIP - BUFC U11 Boys V Strand Celtic U11 (NEUTRAL) (LOSS)

U11 Boys white team put up a spirited display despite going down 5-1 to a strong Strand Celtic team this evening.

The lads were slow out of the blocks and went down 3-0 before an excellent cross from Phevos Gallagher was put away by Bradley Somers to make it 3-1.

With no subs, the lads got tired towards the end and Strand got 2 goals near the end of the game making it a 5-1 loss.

Sligo Leitrim DSL U17 Cup - BUFC U17 Boys 2-3 Gurteen Celtic - Mac Sharry Park (AWAY) (LOSS)

Our U17s were beaten in our cup fixture tonight.

We were 3-0 down at half time through bad decision making and allowing Gurteen to dictate the game.

We were a different team in the second half pulling two goals back through Cillian Deery and Adam Mannion.

Unlucky not to have got an equaliser but overall a great season with a great bunch of lads.

Girls u13 GrpA - BUFC U13 Girls 2-2 Coolaney United - Astro Pitch Ballisodare - (HOME) (DRAW)

A cracking performance form the girls tonight.

BUFC took the early lead with a fantastic goal from Tessa Dooney.

Coolaney applied pressure for the first half putting the girls under pressure resulting in Coolaney taking the lead at half time 2:1

Ballisodare girls came out fighting strong and applied the pressure they had multiple opportunities on goal but were either denied by the goal post or the keeper.

Riona Dooner broke free in the last 3 minutes and blasted the ball pass the keeper.

Final score 2:2 the girls are an absolute credit to the club.

Sligo Leitrim and District League Pallets Premier League 23/24 - BUFC Senior Mens 1-3 Aughanagh Celtic - Astro Pitch Ballisodare - (HOME) (LOSS)

Match Stats

Our senior men's team still had aspirations of a top two finish in the league when we welcomed league winners Aughanagh Celtic to Ballisodare Astro on Friday night.

We got off to a bad start with Aughanagh grabbing the lead after 11 minutes through James Kearnan.

A good physical battle with a very high tempo ensued. BUFC grabbed a fantastic equaliser on the 64th minute when Stephen Fallon headed home a Paul Scanlon cross.

The home side dominated much of the game but never took the lead.

Ultimately, this was punished with Aughanagh grabbing the winning goal in the 92nd minute when Darragh Hailstones slotted home a penalty low and hard. As BUFC went all out for an equaliser Aughanagh scored again in the 97th minute.

It was a very even game in which BUFC deserved at least a share of the spoils. It will hopefully be a good learning curve for our players and club as we move forward.

Boys u13 GRPC - BUFC U13 Boys 7-0 Benbulben FC - Astro Pitch Ballisodare (HOME) (WIN)

The u13 White Team lead by Dylan Hughes who was captain for today, had a good win over a strong Benbulben side this morning.

Our scorers today were Conor Cuskelly with a hat-trick, Oran Hynes with 2, Kyran Gethins and Tessa Dooney with 1 each.

It was a great squad performance with some great football played.

GIRLS U 12 GRPA - BUFC U12 Girls 3-0 Strand Celtic - Strandhill (AWAY) (WIN)

On a very wet and windy morning in Strandhill this talented group of girls beat the highly fancied and undefeated in the league going into the game 3-0 this morning.

In the first half we played against the wind and up the hill and bossed the game but could have went in 1-0 down if it wasn't for a wonderful save from Faye.

In the second half we played as good as any team I have ever seen, Sophie put us one up with a tremendous volley on her weak foot.

10 minutes later Kristina Leskova doubled our lead with a powerful run and finish.

To cap it off in the final minutes Tara Morris hit the top left corner with a sublime finish.

To a girl they gave a 11/10 performance and executed the game plan perfectly.

Win our last w games and we are league champions so on Saturday week we play Yeats at home who are also going for the league so would be great to get out as much support as possible for this special group of girls.

The Sligo/Leitrim manager was present at the game and came up to me at the end and complimented the girls on a magnificent performance, at the moment we have 4 girls involved with the squad so not a bad return from a panel of 13 players.

Boys u 13 GRPB - BUFC U13 Boys 4-1 Calry Bohs - Astro Pitch Ballisodare (HOME) (WIN)

The U13 Red Team ran out 4-1 winners this afternoon against a good Calry side.

Our goal coming through a brace from Bobby Sweeney and Charlie Nicholson and Max Verdon getting a goal a piece.

Another good squad performance from the lads.

Rugatinos U18 Boys Shield - BUFC U18 Boys 7-0 Yeats United - Astro Pitch Ballisodare (HOME) (WIN)

Match stats

The under 18's progressed to the Shield final by beating Yeats United 7 nil tonight.

It was a dominant performance by the lads however we only went in one nil up at half time, from a free kick by Keith Cotter.

The 2nd half was a different story. Two quick goals in succession from Cameron Flanagan and Keith, put us in a comfortable position.

Super striker Shane Gethins emerged from the bench in the 55th minute and grabbed himself four goals, for the second game running.
