GIRLS U13 GRPA SHIELD SEMI FINAL - Ballisodare United 5-4 Coolaney United Summerhill (AWAY) (WIN) (AET)

In difficult weather conditions on the Summerhill carpet our U13 girls eventually got over the Line against a gallant Coolaney team who never gave up .

After 5 mins some nice wing play by Tara Morris the ball fell to Tessa Dooney who made no mistake from 10 yards to give us a fully deserved lead.

We created numerous chances but for the second game in 10 days against the same opposition their Keeper was in inspired form.

Coolaney struck back to hit us on the break with the aid of the strong breeze to score two quick goals.

However we responded with a fine with individual goal by Blaithin O Meara.

Coolaney weren’t finished and hit us with a sucker punch right on half-time to lead 3-2 at the break.

The second half started in similar fashion to the first and it didnt take before super sub Sophie Henry got her shooting boots on and hit one in off the post.

The same lady then scored what we thought was the winner with a long range screamer to put us 4-3 up with minutes left .

However Coolaney got one last corner deep into injury time and after a scramble the ball ended in the net .

Onto extra time and with the aid of our three subs we appeared to be the fitter team and no surprise to see Tessa get her second what would prove to be the winner.

The girls were delighted n relieved to hear the final whistle and what was a great advertisement for girls soccer .

Onto the Final versus Carrack Town on Saturday week.

BOYS U 11 La Liga - BUFC U11 Boys V Ballymote Celtic Cleveragh Astro - (NEUTRAL) (WIN)

The Reds put in their best performance of the season this afternoon in defeating Ballymote.

The lads were at it from the off, and raced into a 4-1 halftime lead with goals from Conor Crossan and Jamie Nicholson.

The lads never took their feet off the gas , and further goals from Conor, Jamie, Cian Crossan and Noah Casey made the game safe .

The lads passing and movement was a joy to behold today.

Their composure on the ball is improving game by game, and their commitment to play the game the right way is fantastic.

Friendly - BUFC Senior Mens 5-2 Glenview (AWAY) (WIN)

Seniors mens played a friendly against Glenview on Sunday morning, BUFC running out 5-2 winners.

The BUFC goals came from Gary Lougheed⁩, Niall O'Donnell⁩ and James McGovern⁩ plus two own goals.

BUFC could have scored a few more and defended well to not give Glenview many chances. It was a good runout on grass with the upcoming schedule of away games.
