Congratulations to our women's senior team who won the Sligo Bay Lobsters Women’s Shield Final on penalties against Kilglass Enniscrone United today in MacSharry Park 🏆 

A tight game finished 1-1 when BUFC captain Ciara Horan scored an 85th minute equaliser to force extra time. Neither side could find a winner in the 20 minutes extra time, and this meant the silverware would be decided on spot kicks.

Heather Cotter, Kate Fallon, and Siobhan Lang expertly scored BUFCs opening three kicks while BUFC Joanne McCabe keeper saved one and Kilglass Enniscrone hit the post with another to leave it 3-1 to BUFC.
This left Clodagh Devaney to step up with a chance to win it. Clodagh riffled the winning penalty high into the roof of the net to spark celebrations among players and fans and earn BUFC Women the Shield 🏆 

Well done to Kilglass Enniscrone United on a great season. It could have gone either way today and hopefully both sides can go from strength to strength next year ⚽️
