On a perfect evening for a game a new look Ballisodare United senior team fell to an unfortunate narrow 2-1 defeat in Riverstown to our old foes Arrow Harps

8 minutes long ball over top causes mix up at back for BUFC allowing Whelahan a chance where he hits post and Calum Tonry and Michael Currid combine to clear

9 mins Luke Flynn with long range just wide as Arrow try to gain control.

Shane Gethins on his senior debut was looking the most threatening in first 20 minutes for BUFC and then a long range free from Adam Grace did not threaten the target.

21 minutes in and Paul Scanlon on his return had great left foot shot from 20 touched onto post by Ultan Mc Kenna in the Arrow goals.

24 mins volley from Luke Flynn fizzes past post as Arrow threaten again

Little or no goalmouth action up to 53 minute when Daire Callaghan taps in at back post to put Arrow one up.

BUFC replied with a great run and cross from Derek Lynch and a superb header from Shane Gethins rattled the Arrow net. His first of many to come for the Senior team.

On the hour mark a great move from BUFC ended with a powerful Adam Grace strike from edge of box tipped over by Mc Kenna.

67 minutes James Markham cuts in from right and tries his luck with left but lacks the power to beat Mc Kenna

69 minutes a Gary Cavanagh free from 23 yards fails to hit the target from good position.

70 minutes and a Paul Scanlon free creates chance for Markham but effort lacks sufficient power to beat Mc Kenna.

72 minutes and a great run and cross from Shane Gethins fails get the rewards his efforts deserved

75 minutes and Paul Scanlon is tenacious in winning the ball back in midfield he supplies a simple pass to Keith Cotter but his left foot effort again lack the power to trouble Mc Kenna in the Arrow goal.

82nd minute and completely against the run of play an unfortunate hand ball leads to an Arrow peno which is dispatched by Daire Callaghan putting the Nathan Scanlon in the BUFC goal the wrong way.

87 minutes and a great through ball from Paul Scanlon puts James Markham through and his delightful cut back finds Robbie O' Callaghan on edge of box and his first time strike is blocked for a corner that comes to nothing.

With the night closing in and the sunsetting over Ballisodare Bay in the distance Arrow saw out the match for an unfortunate defeat for a new look Ballisodare United team under the diligent guidance of Adrian Barrett on the evening.
