BUFC Senior Ladies first outing of the season saw them reach the semi finals in the 7 side tournament held by Yeats United.

Ballisodare 1 Valley Rovers 1

Ballisodare started the stronger team. From goalkeeper Joanne Mc Cabe showing her agility pulling off some great saves and the back line providing a solid platform for the forwards to apply serious pressure and the fast pace of Colleen Cavanagh was too much for Valleys backline to handle and she found the back of the net with her usual aplomb.

The second half saw some great end to end football by both teams and the pressure was on BUFC rearguard and unfortunately one quick pass in the last few minutes led to Valley scoring for a share of the spoils.

Ballisodare 0 Arrow Harps 0

After some fantastic football displayed by Ballisodare ladies with serious pressure applied the Arrow rearguard held firm and unfortunately we couldn't find the back of the net. Great teamwork was displayed by everyone on the pitch.

This led to Penalty shoot out between Ballisodare & Arrow Harps.

Some great saves by Joanne, and two goals by Selina & Audrey led Ballisodare to a well deserved place in the semi final.

Unfortunately the semi final didn't go our way despite the girls never giving up and they fought to the bitter end but it wasn't to be our day.

For a new team who have just started training in the last few weeks and are only getting to know each other they played fantastic football and showed great team work throughout and never gave up. The future looks bright for Ballisodare ladies.

Great performances from Joanne, Selina, Edel, Cora, Grainne, Grace, Rachel, Colleen, Cletchy (Elaine) and Audrey.
