On a great evening for a match on our great facility both teams started with some new faces and there was a tentative opening to the game until Leon Clancy on 15 minutes met a cross on the 6 yard box for a composed finish past Nathan Scanlon in the BUFC Goals. BUFC replied ten minutes later with Keith Cotter finding new recruit Niall Hahessy to finish to the net past former BUFC keeper Keelan Dunleavy. BUFC looked to be getting a slight foothold on the game but on 32 mins a free kick caught team us sleeping and an exquisite cross from Matthew Oates found Cillian Landecy who deftly headed to the net for St. Johns to regain the lead. BUFC responded and on 39 mins Ryan Mc Morrow had a great effort just over the bar which he will be disappointed did not find the top corner. On 41 minutes the returning Lee Dempsey put in a teasing cross which led to Niall Hahessy heading just wide. 2-1 to the away team at half time and all to play for.

With more changes on both sides at half time and both teams feeling each other out on 51 minutes Kenny Ogun finished after a St. Johns shot was fumbled. St. Johns were now well on top and on 67 John's hit the crossbar, but out of the blue on 68 minutes Niall O Donnell from a superb cross by Scanlon from a free, won by Lynch, finished from a very acute angle and this reignited the BUFC fight. 6 minutes later and another superb through ball found Shea Clancy who got there before the unfortunate young Johns keeper, who fouled Shea to give BUFC the chance to equalise. Adam Grace stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way. BUFC were invariably on top until the final whistle but unfortunately could not find the winner in what was a great run out before our final pre season friendly today at 10.30 in Summerhill Astro v Gino O'Boyles Glenview.

All at the club would like to wish Darragh Sweeney a speedy recovery from what was a very unfortunate injury on the night.
